Solar Power at 13 East Market Street

To show a commitment to sustainability and reduce energy costs, MAB Holdings LLC completed a high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) system at 13 East Market Street. The 19-kilowatt SunPower® Helix™ system generates about as much electricity as almost three average homes use in a year.

The system was expected to produce 22,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy in its first year, about 90 percent of the electricity used on the building’s house meter. Over 25 years, it is expected to offset more than 525 tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of planting 12,750 trees or saving 54,000 gallons of gasoline.

Sun Directed, a residential and commercial solar installer in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, and an authorized SunPower® dealer, installed the system. Robert P. Lepley, Electrical Contractor, completed the meter and major electrical work.

The building is fully leased. The Square Cafe & Bakery opens here in early 2027, with indoor dining overlooking Monument Square and a new kitchen and patio next door at 15 East Market Street. See our available properties.
